The Sun moves into Taurus today and our greater unfurling into the rapture of sensory experiences dominates. As the Sun transits each of the 12 zodiac signs, our life’s attention and expressions take on the aspects of that astrological sign’s vibe for the month. Where that sign is in our natal chart, we find those activities highlight as the sun’s shine calls our focus there.

Taurus is ruled by Venus and is generally associated with life in the physical world; our senses, taste, touch, etc and also the environment, the nature around us and that which we accumulate and possess. Slow to crescendo, it lulls and steeps like fine morning tea.

Over the next month, all of us to varying degrees will experience the influence of the Sun’s more earthen vibe. Drawn to greater physical pleasures, slow-drawn intimacies, fine-tasting meals and luxuries, the Bull’s horns will lead us into the wilderness of our human form. We live day to day in this physical space-suit, in an apparently physical landscape. Taurus energy reminds us to allow the full-on experience of what it means to be in the flesh. We crave, we hunger, seek, and pursue desires, wants and needs indelible to our humanity.

Those of us with planets in Taurus, (or it’s opposite Scorpio) in our natal charts will feel this magnetic shine most intensely. Our family here on Crow Hill is rich in Taurus energy, each of us having multiple planetary placements in this Venusian land, so this time of year is always busy and full of goodness! Having Crow Hill to ourselves last night, David and I kicked off this Taurean season in fantastic Dionysus fashion.

For readers in my greater Western NY neighborhood, today is our City’s birthday! Happy Birthday Buffalo; the quintessential Taurean City! Smelling of cheerios on most days, Buffalo is slow to wake and long to endure (how many years did we go without a Buffalo Bills playoff game?) and rich with all kinds of sensory pleasures. The food, drink, social life, natural landscape of this City of Good Neighbors is second to none. You want to indulge? Buffalo is the place to satisfy the “me-wants.” Buffalo is widely known for it’s snow accumulation and the day to day generosity of its citizens helping each other out. Being “born” (incorporated) on 4/20/1832 – Buffalo is the original 420 City 😉

All things Taurean, us, the City of Buffalo and the like will soon encounter some fairly radical energies over the next 8 years. The planet Uranus is at the very end of Aries presently and will shift into Taurus in mid-May this year and despite retrograding a bit, will be in Taurus for approximately 8 years. For those of us (the City of Buffalo too) with strong placements in Taurus we will be experiencing a radical vibe as compared to the steadfast land of the Bull. Uranus is all about swift shake ups, change, polarity, and making free – liberation.

As the Sun spends this next month in Taurus, keep an eye on what comes to prominence in your journey. Likely, a bell will be rung giving you a tingle of where the rebel-rouser is setting his sights in your journey.
