Dreams of Panther
Elizabeth Ryba ©2010
Serenely, his jaws settle around my skull and the green light that emanates from within his core transfers to mine. These dreams of Panther, once rare but now abundant, are the threads of Spirit that weave the waking and dreaming worlds together for me.
Panther first came in March 2005. As he does in every dream since, he stands before me with his mouth open displaying a pulsing green light inside. He then, gently, takes hold of my head with his jaws and cracks into my skull. At first, I writhed in pain, by the sound of crushing and crackling bone. However, as his visits have progressed, the pain has diminished and the energy from the inner light has strengthened.
The timing of his arrival in my dreams is no coincidence. He came to ready my Spirit to release from the past and usher in the next phase of my journey. The intoxicating eyes of the Panther deliver his message of knowing, strength from within and the ability to endure. These are hallmarks that I am now blessed with.
In years past, Panther would come so rarely. However, even within the last few months, Panther has been in my dreams almost weekly and no longer appears alone.
As Panther continues to “crack” my physical self and go within, he now brings other images which I have yet to fully understand. He has shown visions of a parade of horses and military regiments breaking apart in chaos, a stalking leopard in a golden field and crumbing mountains destroying communities of people having no eyes.
In recent visions brought by Panther, I saw the Shawnee warrior and prophet, Tecumseh, Panther in the Sky. Once before, in January 2004 I heard Tecumseh’s name called in a dream. However, in the early morning of January 15, 2010 I am behind him as he stands in the clearing near the woods of our home. Tecumseh is looking up at the blue and white lights in the sky over the tall pines and I hear his name called once again in the wind.
Panther is preparing my spirit for yet another evolution. I find myself ready, looking over the tall pines as well, seeking the lights and their heralding message.
The journey has already begun.
