the 13th degree in 2017
There is geometry in the humming of the strings; there is music in the spacing of the spheres. ~Pythagoras
Astrology is born of the study of natural cycles and patterns. Over the span of time the planets and other Starry orbs move and aspect each other in repeating fashion, some faster, some slower. The story of these planetary Wanderers is told across the backdrop of the Zodiac; 12 signs splitting up 360 degrees by way of each holding 30 degrees of the Starry landscape.
As a result, the cycles we observe dance and move on singular degrees in the Zodiac that when hit again by other planets; a resonation of that same vibe is evoked.
We just hit one such degree yesterday, 2/14/17 as Mars is transiting on this 13th degree of Aries yesterday and today. Mars is the planet of action, the warrior, aggression, making things happen. What is Mars stirring up for you? What is Mars stirring up in the mundane world for all of us?
13 Aries and by way of opposition, its polarity (opposite), 13 Libra are involved in this storyline.
13 Aries corresponds to April 2nd/3rd and 13 Libra corresponds to October 5th/6th. While we aren’t all Aries or Libra Sun signs, we all have these degrees occurring somewhere in our charts, depending on whether there is a planet or angle there would determine its impact significance for each of us.
The “humming” that occurs at 13 Aries/Libra began its recent resonation at these degrees on 11/10/16. That is when Jupiter entered the beginning degree of its current retrograde series which was 13 Libra. Jupiter climbed all the way up to 23 Libra on 2/6/17, then will retrograde all the way backwards to 13 Libra again on 6/9/17 and finally make it out past 23 Libra by 9/6/17. Jupiter is the planet of expansion, making things bigger. Bigger isn’t always better. Jupiter is anything that expands our horizons, the way we think and see the world.
Venus also resonates on this 13th degree of Aries for us during her upcoming retrograde. Venus entered her retrograde series on 1/30/17 at 26 Pisces (the degree at which Venus is seen to be very strong) and continues to climb to 13 Aries by 3/4/17. Then, Venus retrogrades back to 26 Pisces by 4/15/17 and then makes her climb all the way back up to 13 Aries by 5/18/17.
The final resonating hum of this 13 degree axis is at the full moon on 10/5/17 which occurs when the Moon is at 13 degrees of Aries and the Sun is at 13 degrees of Libra.
What does it all mean? Certainly it makes for an evolving theme in the lives of people born in early April and October, whose Sun signs are positioned at this 13th degree mark – but also for all of us as it plays out in our charts somewhere and on our global stage. Some notable people in the news with 13 Aries/Libra important in their charts…? V. Putin’s Sun, S. Bannon’s Mars and M. Pence’s North Node, E. Warren’s Ascendant, J. Trudeau’s Moon and Uranus to name a few.
What will the theme be? In very simple terms, the Aries/Libra axis is me/we; Aries is self, Libra is partnerships. Aries is the warrior, the pioneer, trailblazer, the fighter. Libra is partnerships, balance and also where we find people who we know to be our enemies.
This ongoing storyline is highlighted now and for most of 2017 as the geometry of the spheres hums along this 13th degree axis. What does 13 Aries/Libra mean for you in your chart?
Cycles.
