DEC 2020 | Wk3 (12/13-12/19)
Sunday, December 13 | The Sun enjoys its planetary day today while knowing it is about to become eclipsed within the next day. The storytelling rendered by a solar eclipse signals to us that like the Sun, the light in our life, the north star leading us on our path is about to change. It is about to go dark and we are left without it momentarily and we find that our way tends to also become darkened. We re-evaluate our identity, our paths forward, how we shine, where we place our energy investments. Our lights in life, leaders, role models, parents, caregivers, bosses, teachers, etc. are in the realm of change. Depending on the specifics of our chart, during this timeframe typically new people in these arenas sweep in to our lives, after others have left.
The summary focus is on our identity and our mindsets at this eclipse. If we’ve ever wanted to kick off a story we keep telling ourselves that does no constructive good for us, now is the time. Just because way back when you did this or that, or didn’t do this or didn’t do that, it got you to here. Honor that memory and that story because you are here now but don’t let it hold you back or limit you from the new life and the new path just around the corner wanting your good attention and effort.
Today, on this day before the eclipse this vibe is in the air palpably and calls our attention.
Monday, December 14 | The solar eclipse arrives at 24 Sagittarius, as the new moon perfects (see also my previous 11/19, 11/22 posts). Culminating on fixed star Rasalhague in the constellation of the healer, Asclepius we welcome the divine story signaling a new light and new life is upon us. The story of Asclepius intimately entwines with that of Medusa. Healing and poison. Being saved by being destroyed.
In a mundane sense, this eclipse strongly impacts the USA. It hits a critical spot in the birth chart of the US, its ascendant or rising; the identity and physical construction of the USA. Collectively, the impact of this eclipse will affect us all as we each contribute to the USA’s ascendant. Who we are as a nation is changing. How we structure ourselves is also changing. Particularly over the next six-12 months ahead (the timespan of the eclipse’s greatest impact) we will see significant changes and activity.
The same rings in our personal charts, but specific for what 24 Sagittarius means for each of us. Knowing the location, we are able to dial in the storyline specific to our journey and have the heads up on where we can likely expect to see sudden reversals, changes and new life taking shape over the same 6-12 months ahead.
In a general sense, this eclipse hits with greatest impact for our Sagittarius/Gemini placements and it challenges and inspires our Pisces and Virgo placements.
Eclipses cycle in series and families. Previously, we experienced South Node eclipses in Sagittarius back in the following time frames from which we can glean certain similar storylines to come to our attention (1908-11, 1927-28, 1945-47, 1964-66, 1983-84 and lastly, October 2001-April 2003). Are you, or anyone you know born during these years? If so, this eclipse is sure to kick off an exceptionally significant year ahead in their life.
One significant word of caution. Eclipse energy is wild and untamed. This is not energy I typically seek to harness or work with because it often can rear right back up on you returning just the opposite of what you were intending. So, while it is good to always have a plan at hand and personal intentions and so forth, give yourself a little space during an eclipse and while keeping it in the back of your mind, I would not recommend taking any significant action for implementation. During eclipse energy, I prefer to stay off the Universe’s radar – unless I am specifically wanting to catch the eye of the dragon.
*Additional notes -
This eclipse occurs on Rasalhague in the constellation associated with Asclepius | the healer who was raised by Chiron. The story of Asclepius runs tightly with Pallas Athena, Medusa and the balance of being destroyed in order to be healed, finding salvation in poison, death and resurrection, blood and herbs, healing power and tinctures. Pallas Athena shows up again soon, on 12/21 at the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction.
This eclipse occurs in a particularly sensitive spot for the USA | The eclipse occurs in the USA’s 1st house (identity, physical structure) and triggers Mars which sits in the USA’s 7th house (enemies).
Tuesday, December 15 | Pressure. Within the hangover of the 12/14 eclipse, we immediately encounter a pressurizing intensity. Today, Venus arrives at the last degree of Scorpio, the sign of her debility and she is ready to get out. Also today, Jupiter arrives at the last degree of Capricorn, also the sign of its debility and is ready to get out. Meanwhile, Saturn is hovering comfortably within that same space and lording over Jupiter at the final doorway of Capricorn. While at the same time today, our messenger and sharer of information – Mercury meets up with Mars in Aries and adds fuel to flames of emotionally charged and passionate dialogues. If you’ve been looking for a time to state your case after repeated attempts of not being able to previously get your message across – today is a good day for it. It’s a “I’m not gonna take it anymore” kind of a day.
Wednesday, December 16 | A milestone is in the air. The Moon is co-present with Saturn in Capricorn for the last time for the next 27+ years and Mercury arrives at the degree of the 12/14 solar eclipse. Key messages and information regarding our own personal eclipse and Saturn cycle stories are revealed to us today. Recall, eclipses ring in with synchronicity, the unexpected, intuition and out of the blue type experiences. We may find that a powerful message comes to us from the most unusual of places today.
Also, Venus finally clears her debility in Scorpio today entering the wide-opened lands of Sagittarius. Here, the astrological landscape welcomes her inherent urge to connect and get together. A far away friend might come into focus today, or at least a lessoning of particular relationship tension.
This is a breaking free, I’m finally done kind of energy all day. What are you looking to put behind you and call it day on?
Thursday, December 17 | The winter winds begin to howl and announce Saturn’s momentous shift. Saturn, today, returns to Aquarius. While Saturn was previously in Aquarius for a short visit earlier this year (think back to mid March through the end of June 2020 and how that went), our titan Malefic re-enters Aquarius and will remain there for the next 2 years. Pay particularly close attention to circumstances this week, these are events which occur ever so rarely. The Universe signals to us that so too, in our lives, rare and momentous experiences and opportunities are upon us.
Saturday, December 19 | This is my favorite day of the last bits of 2020. We have upon us a fantastic day to set forth our tangible intentions towards the soon-coming establishment and endurance of a “thing” that marks a sweeping milestone in our lives. In the Western NY area, focus your thoughts during the mid-morning timeframe on this for yourself. This is fantastic energy on this Saturn’s planetary day, under a waxing and growing moon to take a hold of and imprint it on circumstances you wish to initiate and set longevity and life into.
