Dec 2020 | Wk2 (12/6-12/12)

Sunday, December 6 | The Moon spends its last day in Leo free from the stern opposition of Saturn, soon to be entering Aquarius. For the next 2’ish years, after today, monthly, any planets place in or transiting through Leo will be forced to face the great taskmaster and exacting authority, Saturn. The Moon would prefer to summon the Leo vibe of play, creation and some ooo-la-la, but monthly, for the next two years, the Moon will face off with Saturn. Be prepared for this monthly opposition to instill lessons and opportunities for us regarding the definition of who we are, our individuality and the edges of where I end and you begin. We’ll get back to basics lessons in the karma of too much fun, of overextending ourselves, our image, our needs and wisdom on better organizing and structuring our creativity and making it physically tangible.

Monday, December 7 | Mercury, our planetary messenger arrives on fixed star, Antares in Sagittarius; the degree of the recent (11/30) Lunar Eclipse. Be on the lookout for echoes of that time and rattling of cages. Antares, archangel Uriel is seen as the rival to Mars. It is an astrological placement teeming with suspicion, war cries, battle and vengeance. We may find conspiracy theories wildly proliferating online and in our day to day, more of the same. Reminding ourselves of the current transit, we can help reframe our thoughts and inclination towards theory and conjecture.

On this same day, Venus in her debility, enters the last decan of Scorpio. Of all 30 degrees in Scorpio, it is these last 10 in which Venus retains some ability to effect her powers. However, her Venusian desire to merge together, to connect and to relate is lensed through the Mars-ruled Scorpio frame. Here, Venus surfaces connections from the deep and murky waters of Scorpio. What’s been hidden in the undergrowth in some way, unites us. Relationships during this time tend to experience revelations and uncoverings of things that have long been darked. A power source is unearthed and given the ability to navigate its depths, our relationships seam stronger because of it.

Saturn enters the last degree of Capricorn today. We’ve been here before. Think back to mid January, 2020.

At the last degree of any zodiac sign we experience a particular nuance to the planet’s expression. Depending on the planet’s dignity or debility in the sign of its 29th degree placement and what follows, colors that expression. Think of it like a kid in the backseat of the car going on a ride. For many of us who can attest, this experience can run in a number of different directions. At the 29th degree, a planet may want to remain where it’s at and not move forward, should it be entering its debility for example. A planet conversely may want to rush in to the next sign, should it gain access to a more comfortable landscape. It’s all in context. But regardless, it is pronounced. We might lose sight of the impact of a planet transiting through the middle of a sign, but at the very beginning and the very end, they always make themselves known.

Today, we meet Saturn again and this exchange stares us in the face through the Winter Solstice. Saturn is the Lord of Karma, an exacting for of pressure and demand, embodiment of darkness, hard work, difficulty and depression. Saturn rules agriculture and our toils and efforts in this physical and tangible world. Saturn rules weed and in my opinion, is the original witch; the alchemist who works with the physical world bending it to its will for survival.

Saturn is adversity and darkness. But through its restrictions, we find the joy in what is essential and the delight in our own good craftsmanship.

Wednesday, December 9 | Today is a day inclined towards anxiousness. Keep this in mind as the day evolves to help thwart any overloads. Multiple aspects make significant inches in closing the gap between perfecting culmination and as such, the signal is that we too feel that we are close, soon, but not yet.

Thursday, December 10 | As the Sun, our life force energy conjoins with the South Node today in Sagittarius, we may find we feel excessively tired, drained and burnt out. Today is a good day to keep a lighter schedule where possible and to drink plenty of water to combat the dry fiery burnout. Spiritual matters will tend to weigh on our minds and the big questions in life, why am I here, what does it all mean and where am I going come to our forefront. Likely a loss is in the air, a leader, an authority, someone who has been in the “light” or who has been a “lightbearer.”

Saturday, December 12 | So many aspects are piling up. We may tend to feel the same and experience a pile up in our lives. Keeping aware of the storylines the planets mirror to us, we are able to help keep our wits about us.

Today, a pointed hallmark is the annual opposition between Venus in Scorpio and the famed fixed, demon star, Algol in Taurus. And as the Universe would have it, this opposition perfects as the Moon comes along and joins Venus in Scorpio while this culminates. Today is a banner day for losing our heads and bright bursts of creativity (and rage). Keeping this in mind, we may find we can render the vibe useful towards our own alchemy, maybe some crafting, art and otherwise transformative and alchemical work.

Mars, our warrior and trailblazer arrives at the entry way of the last decan in Aries. Mars has been working through its unusually long retrograde process and today, arrives at the home stretch. Mars rules Aries and through this cycle, the astrology has mirrored to us the story of being stuck in our homes, our movement restricted and our ability to divide and conquer vanquished. As Mars retraces all these steps, with some yet to go, like Mars, we see the end in sight and are gathering speed, energy and fire by the day.

The last decan of Aries is associated with the 4 of Wands in Tarot. Here, the message of home is doubly emphasized. Reunions, celebrations and making up for lost time is the theme of the warrior’s call now through early January 2021.

Mars is also associated with empire building (spread), inflammation and fever. The flames of the pandemic are surely about to burn brightest over this next month.
