Oct 2020 | WK1 (10/1-10/3)
10/1 - Full Moon | We open the month under the full moon at 10 Aries.
The Cardinal-signed lunation perfects just as the Moon connects to Chiron. The Sun's shine spotlights and reveals to us, a storyline about something that began paining (Chiron) us in March around St. Patrick's Day (when Chiron entered its rx shadow) and continued to be of emphasis through the Aries New Moon later that month, on March 24th. Here we are again, for the return connection to those previously incepted cycles. The echoes ring back around from what was started or highlighted in March.
Full moons are culminating events. Nature shows us the story. We can fully see both the Sun and Moon while they have conversation in the sky. The Moon is full on the Sun's light and no longer searches for it. With a full belly, the Moon no longer hungers and instead of seeking light, focuses on other activities and pursuits. These tend to get the Moon into some trouble, but also can be a wellspring for creativity.
The Sun's spotlight shining across from Libra on to the Moon in Aries highlights the "We" (Libra) and "Me" (Aries) axis in our charts. A dynamic push/pull is in place and our emotional (Moon) sensitivities get raised regarding our relationships with other people and our identity within them. Look for relationship milestones to be coming to light during this time.
The Sun is in its debility during this full moon and the Moon is in Aries, with its planetary ruler, Mars in retrograde and being overcome by a square from malefic Saturn. This is a crunchy Moon. Remembering that the Moon rules Cancer, those of us with emphasized placements in Cancer are likely to be feeling this full moon more intimately than others - what happens to the Moon, happens to Cancer placements.
The full moon impacts Cardinal signs primarily (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) and particularly, those born 3/25 through 4/5, 6/26 through 7/7, 9/28 through 10/8 and 12/27 through 1/5, give or take a day.
The Full Moon culminates within the first 10 degrees of Aries, the 1st Decan which also relates to the Tarot’s Two of Wands. Here, while the Moon holds no special properties or dignity, it can yield a quicksilvering; a time where we quickly craft a plan to put into action. Time is likely to seem like it is speeding up after this full moon. If life hasn't been moving fast enough for you, here is your ticket to ride. The imagery of Aries D1 is of The Axe. It is primary; the beginning of power and primal ferocity. The full moon seats us in the dichotomy of how do I exert my will within the context of my relationships with others. In this Decan, we often battle most within ourselves; we are urged to follow our own dares but we are intimately aware that we the Axe splits one (Aries) into two. We are never alone and always, in some form, interconnected (Libra)
The fast-pace of Aries Decan 1 rushes us headlong into the month of October - the month in 2020 most likely to yield the biggest and most unexpected twists and turns yet.
10/2 - The Cardinal Knot continues | While the Moon remains gorged, it connects with Jupiter around dinner time in EST which should offer a break in the pressure but then as the night goes on, connects with malefic after malefic, first Pluto, then, Mars and then Saturn. Either our pace picks up hard as the night drives on, or we are likely to encounter challenges and difficulties.
By nightfall, Venus enters her debility tonight. Always remember, astrology is about context. Debility does not by itself mean "bad" - it's all within the context of what it means in your chart. Moving from Leo into Virgo, Venus finds herself wrapped up in worrying about perfection. Here, Venus signal to us values emphasizing making the most with what we have on hand and that is available to us. Venus in Virgo tends to over emphasize appearances. Everything must be in its place and orderly. This isn't a flashy Venus, but rather practical and practically perfect. The caution with this Venus is that perfection on the outside tends to lead to abundant worry and nervous bellies. As Venus enters Virgo, compounding the Moon's encounter with the malefics we may find that we are feeling overly stressed or overly exhausted with the new change in energy.
Get a good night's sleep - tomorrow is a better day.
10/3 - Moon in Taurus, savor the sweet | While the morning will have some kinks to work out yet, by mid-afternoon (3pm'ish), the Moon enters its exaltation, Taurus. Here, the Queen arrives. The Moon treasures being in Taurus and with Uranus currently in Taurus, the Moon does have a few unexpected twists and turns in its favorite homeland - but this weekend, those won't crop up until Sunday morning.
Saturday from 3pm'ish on, we should find we have fallen into a particularly beautiful oasis amid what is the year of 2020. Taurus is a sensory experience. The Moon here inclines us to find ways to delight our senses and enjoy a slower pace.
Relax, have another tasty treat and indulge. Saturday night's moon rekindles our confidence and we find resources that help us remember, we got this.
Keep this in mind when we get a couple weeks ahead into October. It's going to be full of switchbacks as we continue to climb the mountainous last few months of 2020. But for now, this Saturday's Taurean Moon is the sweet nectar to savor.
Enjoy!
