Sept 2020 | Wk5 (9/27-9/30)
A week of epic milestones in the story of 2020.
The star of the show this week - is the Mars/Saturn square perfecting on Tuesday (Mars' Day), 9/29. This climactic event occurs just a few times within this exchange interplay and 9/29 is packed with an extra punch (this aspect is in effect all week). During this epic encounter between the malefics, Saturn will also be stationing direct and no longer in retrograde. Symbolically - the story reflects the pressuring of two challenging forces, each struggling to keep their foothold. Mars, in its home sign Aries is now begrudgingly retrograde and is demonstrably unhappy and uncomfortable for having to tread backwards in his own enflamed homeland for all to see. He must retrace his steps and move in the direction antithetical to his nature. His exhaustive tension flashes daily.
Mars is going to scramble and likely rope in close women in his life to help, to assist or for cover. Relationships flash in Mars' flames during this peak time as Mars trines Venus during the Mars/Saturn square. Venus also reflects the story of money and investments. Look for Mars to also have a scramble with his money and assets. Mars may find a way to use them as a buffer, as an outlet or a distraction to Saturn's overcoming square.
While at the same time, mighty malefic Saturn in its cold and dry perch atop Capricorn is concluding its retrograde. Its time falling backward is over and now it is time for it to overcome Mars. Saturn ultimately wins here and takes the upper hand. Next year, in 2021 - Saturn will meet great battle with Uranus; the young, the freedom fighters and that which is chaos. But in the contest with Mars, ultimately - the establishment wins. Restriction, loss, somber, cold and dry all eventually gain a greater foothold as the Mars and Saturn entanglement waxes and wanes from here on out. 9/29 begins a tipping point. Look to when Mars stations direct in November for another peak milestone in their epic battle.
In the meantime, give yourself some space. While we won't all have the same experience, we are likely to fall in a range of experiences from drastic and unrelenting to at the very least, busy where we collapse into bed at night wondering how we made it through such a busy day.
Cardinal signs, Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn are most directly impacted by this Cardinal knot. So too is Scorpio, the water sign traditionally ruled by Mars and Aquarius, the air signed ruled traditionally by Saturn. The more key planets and placements in these signs in your chart, the greater the impact.
In a mundane sense, aside from the obvious political chaos, be on the lookout for significant world events (earthquakes, explosions, etc)
The other big news is - Within its retrograde shadow zone, our messenger Mercury exits the cardinal entanglement and heads into fixed sign, Scorpio on 9/27. Not only is Scorpio ruled by Mars, the first 10 degrees of Scorpio are also ruled by Mars. Collectively, these Decan of 10 degrees corresponds to the Tarot’s 5 of Cups. Here, Mercury elicits hidden truths and secrets. Keep your eyes and ears peeled. Mercury will be back through this place later in October during retrograde. What is at the forefront of attention and news now will be recirculating in a few weeks.
And otherwise - On 9/27 - the Moon spends its last full day in Aquarius this month and productively connects with the North Node in Gemini and Venus in Leo. Be on the lookout for insightful conversations, dialogues and general information sharing. With the Moon/Venus opposition we may find we are feeling a bit indulgent leading to an extra tasty Sunday supper.
On 9/30, the Sun opposes Chiron in Aries and rings a bell of the soon-coming full moon which will perfect closely to this degree (8 Libra/Aries). Sun/Chiron across the Libra/Aries axis spotlights relationships. This chaptered focus is on "me" and "we" and the life long revolving story this highlights in our lives. Look for a poignant gold star on this storyline this week.
9/30 also brings us a secret message or something within the context that we've not heard before. Venus meets Mercury by a hidden aspect on this day, which is repeated in later October during Mercury's retrograde. Here Venus is in control, she sends the message, or initiates the communication. Look for pivotal messages from or concerning women, and also regarding relationships and financial investments/money.
