Sept 2020 | Wk2 (9/6-9/12)

Moon/Venus – as week 1 moves into week 2, the Cardinal-T square breaks up for a couple days before the Moon moves into Cancer later this week (9/11). To break up the sharp square, the Moon conjoins Mars at the end of Aries and together, square Venus at the end of Cancer. The Moon inches just past Mars, as if to hold him in while Venus escapes and rushes into the land of the Sun; Leo.

Free from the malefic ravages of Mars, Pluto and Saturn, Venus takes on the bright shine of the Sun in Leo and with these bright rays, she quickly returns the favor to the Moon and holds good space for Luna’s entry into Taurus, her exaltation, Taurus and begins the disseminating phase. Our moods gain confidence, we tend towards feelings of righteousness and authenticity and we share our learned wisdom with others. A helping hand reaches out to comfort us and we to others. Here, we unfurl with creative desire and potent urges.

Venus offers additional opportunities for us while she travels through the first 10 degrees of Leo this week. This decan which also corresponds to the Tarot’s 5 of Wands, is a place where Venus signals to us stories about using the friction and conflict inherent in sexual or creative tension for manifesting. Getting our groove on is just what the Dr. ordered this week.

The Taurus Moon perfects its monthly conjunction to Uranus and we get our monthly allotment of shocks and surprises. Later, the Moon connects productively to Jupiter, then Pluto and Saturn in quick succession via Earth based trines (manifesting).

Moon closes out its time in Taurus by conjoining the famed portent, fixed star Algol. We have a spell to cast and dark realities cast their shadows in dream worlds and daytime wanderings. Power plays are born here.

Mars Stations Retrograde – By 9/9, the Moon enters Gemini and reaches its last quarter, crisis phase and during the same time, Mars stations retrograde at 29 Aries. The Moon tends to act as the guide, the door opener for the significant activities, aspects and motions of the planets. The Moon arriving in her last quarter phase as our warring planet stalls out in his own firey homeland of Aries alerts us to a likely volatile and confusing time period. Furthering our alert, during this week as the Moon is arriving in the last quarter phase instills within us an instinctual urge to look back at what has happened, what was established, what has been and an impetus is upon us to allow it to persist or tear it all down.

On a mundane level, the Moon during this time in Gemini, will be traveling over two particularly hot spots in the USA’s birth chart; Uranus and Mars. Meanwhile, when the transiting Mars turns retrograde in Aries, he does so in the area of the USA’s chart relating to home, family, ancestors.

The confusion comes in as the Moon culminates the last quarter phase point in Gemini, she squares Neptune in Pisces. The Moon will then conjoin the Dragon’s head in Gemini, which is within a few degrees of the USA’s natal Mars, continuing to reflect an amplified story of increased difficulty at this time.

Cardinal T-Square – 9/11, in the later afternoon and evening we feel the continuing Cardinal T-Square tighten up again as the Moon moves into the latter half of Cancer, and will successively oppose Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn in Capricorn and square Mars, now retrograde in Aries. This knot remains most tight through the morning of 9/13. We are likely to find frustration during this time and if not frustration, at least extraordinarily busy schedules.

Jupiter Stations Direct – As this week closes out, on 9/13, our benefactor Jupiter who has spent all of 2020 in his debility in Capricorn and further weakened in retrograde for most of this time is now stationing direct at 18 Capricorn. No longer falling backwards in the muck and mire, Jupiter begins to stand on his own and summon his strength and sets his sight on moving forward. As his motion changes, the Sun’s helpful rays shine in from Virgo connect with the Guru making a supportive, earth element based trine. While still in his debility when in Capricorn, direct and forward moving increases his power and abilities.

During this stationing time, a paralleling aspect culminates as the Sun perfects his annual opposition to Neptune in Pisces. The Virgo/Pisces axis imparts themes of healing, compassion, service and becoming lost, overwhelmed and obsessive.

September's week 2 - tightens the cinch on the underbelly of 2020. The cycle will wane as time goes on. Our awareness helps us find treasures within the muck and the mire. Mostly, the gems of grit, hard work and difficulty that yield the rewards of authenticity and truth.
