Sept 2020 | Wk3 (9/13-9/19)
Balsamic Moon - By midweek the Moon enters Virgo and its Balsamic phase. While there, Moon will keep busy by making a supportively connecting earth-element trine to both Uranus in Taurus and Jupiter in Capricorn, then oppose Neptune in Pisces and then reach out in one more trine to Pluto in Capricorn while also forming a T-square with both the North Node in Gemini and the South Node in Sagittarius.
Mutable T-Square - During this Balsamic Moon phase, the Sun enters the Grand Mutable Square, arriving at the halfway point between the North Node in Gemini and South Node in Sagittarius. The mirrored story is of our paths in life. We find ourselves at a crossroads in the third week of September. Challenges and decision points arise relating to the core of our identity, our calling and what our life’s purpose might be. This is a pivotal time of reflection.
Venus square Uranus – Venus in Leo perfects her squaring aspect to Uranus in Taurus inciting some personal rebellions amid a shedding moon. If there were ever a time in September to shake loose and refresh your perspective on life the middle of September is it (9/15 - 9/16). Remake yourself.
New Moon – Shortly after the last minute unusually frenetic activity within the Balsamic moon phase, the New Moon perfects on 9/17 at 26 Virgo while Luna connects with Saturn in Capricorn at the same degree.
Gaining a sliver of light, the Moon exits Virgo and rumbles into the Cardinal sign, Libra and from 9/18 through 9/19, encounters a numerous amount of aspects and activities. Because Libra is a Cardinal sign, the Moon’s transit here once again evokes the Cardinal T-square knot referenced throughout the month already. Following the Moon’s movements, we quickly see how certain patterns tends to wax and wane and resurface.
The gauntlet run takes the new moon in opposition to Chiron in Aries, conjoins Mercury in Libra and together, kick off an exact square to Jupiter and then the Moon continues on squaring both malefics, Pluto and then Saturn in Capricorn and quickly after, opposes Mars in Aries, freshly reduced to retrograde status.
The Moon doesn’t too often get downtime in September. Usually, we encounter void of course moons pretty regularly and sometimes for a day or so at a time. This month though, the voids are just a handful of hours in length. It’s hard to get a break and detach. September is a fully engaged month.
Sun in Decan 3 Virgo - Beginning this week until the Sun enters Libra on 9/22, the Sun travels the last decan, or 10 degrees, of Virgo. These 10 degrees are also collectively related to the Tarot’s 10 of Pentacles. This time period signals the last reign of the Sun’s light before it falls into Libra, the sign of the Sun’s debility. As the Sun travels this decan, we are reminded that physical practicalities (Virgo) must eventually dissolve and give way to the coming darkness. As our seasons signal, it is a time where we evaluate the work we have done and the harvest we reap.
Mercury in Libra Decan 2 – During this week, Mercury reprises in the middle 10 degrees of Libra to yield another spot of promising assistance. These 10 degrees are also collectively related to the Tarot’s 3 of Swords. This week, should we have to engage in discussions regarding contractual arrangements or otherwise agreements and obligations, Mercury is well-poised to assist in their proper and productive rendering. If there be faults however, Mercury will find them this week.
